Where is my data stored?
Vehicle records are stored locally on your device. Widgets use Apple App Group storage to display shared vehicle status.
PrivacyAirGap Auto is designed to keep your vehicle records on device. The app may request camera access for VIN and receipt scanning, Bluetooth access for OBD2 adapters, location/notification access for optional service reminders, and photo access for receipt attachments.TroubleshootingIf Bluetooth OBD2 is not connecting:
- Confirm your adapter is BLE-compatible
- Turn Bluetooth off and on
- Restart the app
- Make sure the vehicle ignition is on
- Try reconnecting from the OBD2 tab
If widgets do not update:
- Open AirGap Auto once
- Confirm a vehicle is added
- Edit or log a record to refresh widget data
- Remove and re-add the widget if needed
If receipt scanning does not detect text:
- Use good lighting
- Keep the receipt flat
- Make sure text is not blurry
- Try entering the record manually

- Optional receipt images and OCR text extracted from receipts
